Pu-erh tea (also known as Puerh or Puer) is rich, dark and earthy, and makes a great alternative to coffee. It is doubly fermented, and usually pressed into cakes or bricks, and then aged. There are also some exceptionally fine loose leaf pu-erhs available. Pu-erh cakes are collector's items that improve with age. A 120 year old pu-erh cake recently sold at auction for over $100,000!
